The Perfect Picture!

Great shoot last evening!
For some have not know, I have been busy helping my brother and future sister in-law's wedding since I flew back from Malaysia.

One of the fruits of our hard work is last evening's engagement photoshoot.

All of us didn't get home until dark due to a longer distance for the unique feel of the ruins in the outdoor and still very OUTDOOR!

I have to say I almost freaked out when I was walking pass a swam of little flying insects. I don't know what they were, but felt gross when they bump into me when I walk by.

I was so glad everything was falling into its place by the arrangement of God.
He knew I needed more time on fixing the extension (for hair), He gave me a surprise call yesterday early morning while I was all ready to go to work. I was just about to head out the door and I got a call from my manager!! I was informed I will not have to go in for that day, which I had already switched shift to work around for this photoshoot day.

What do you know?! I had just enough time to fix the extensions. Because extensions do not get to be wear out like a normal human hair, the color didn't lighten up like a normal brunet will. I have been trying to not damage the hair in the same time matching the hair to my sister in-law.

We basically had everything ready on the dot!
Before we left I was taking care of some chocolate ordering, calling favor to help pick up etc...
When everything was taken care of that was the time to go. (phewww.....)

May I add, the weather was cold all day, mid 50's! When we were heading out, the sun came up! It was like a symphony of God! We were praying so hard for good weather, it was raining all day until then.

No one got sick, we were prepared for the shoot so did the photographer and her assistant. No accidents or scratches. We even had our own private changing room next to our car! LOL... I got to say, THANK YOU JESUS! for giving us good thoughts and ideas to get ready for the shoot.
We brought bed sheet to be our portable changing room, shoe polisher with stain and wet wipes! The Perfect Picture is when everything is synced with God's melody!

Hi gangs,

First I want to say, I'm so sorry to keep you hanging with no further info from me. I have been super busy with catching up on working and personal life.
For some of you have already heard, I have been wedding theme busy. I'm a part-time wedding party planner, and side kick for my brother since I got back to the state.We had tons of fun finding new things for the wedding. We were extension shopping and of course outfit fitting, shoe finding and much much more. The biggest accomplishment will be the wedding shower favors. It was hard for me to think of what to pick. Since everything seems perfect to be a party favor. But I pulled it off with some help from my cousin to help me assemble in one night with me. The result? Of course we loved it.

If I may add, this looks very classy!!

So the next thing will be get the party run smoothly this weekend. I will be in charge on the appetizer... I will post more later to follow up with the wedding shower story.

Oh other then doing all the wedding stuff, I have been busy teaching at The Academy Waukesha Paul Mitchell Partner School.

Yes! It was CURE and Egyptian Magic that did the trick for me to look this good still after a week of blowing and wiping my nose constantly!

How? Why? Let's find out...

First when you nose and lips are dry due to dehydration and snot blowing (hahahaaaa... ewww...) your skin will be very brittle and needs the best product to help save it.

Yes I know! CURE is an exfoliator! For most of you will think of it as a scrub, CURE is not a scrub. It only lift the dead skin cells off of your skin.

How I did it was, I washed and patted dry my face, pump a drop of CURE on my finger tips and started to apply to the area that was needed the attention. I putted it on my nose and my dry lips. Yes my chapped dry lips!

I'm now on my last week at my little getaway. I was so blessed that everything is sponsored by my uncle. I came here and learned a lot of health related stuff. Things such as eating vegetables is very important. How our digestive system works, and it actually starts from our mouth. I will post some awesome pictures here once I am done. easy bake?

hmmm.... my aunt has an easy bake bread machine. Basically just put everything in the bread machine and just press start. I don't think it's that easy, haha the bread is not that nice.

Do you have any tricks? Let me know.

This bread machine is just a simple one, very few selection.
The first try, the bread is still not fluffy enough, very stiff, and dry. It was chewy too.
Then the second try, the bread was not as dry, but the bread collapsed and the bread still dry, but not as bad as the first try.

Hey you, yes, YOU! Look what I have experienced here in Malaysia (so far). I have finally able to sit and do nothing else but to update the blog. I have just finished busy with wedding stuff for my cousin. Check out my facebook for more portfolio.

Korean food, we sat on the floor, with a hole underneath the table so for a non-Korean like me is able to sit and not have my feet to fall asleep. The food was great, I love the pickled papaya! But their sushi is a bit too big to just have one bite. The food is very simple and less fat/oil content. I think they are famous for their pickled items such as the papaya, veggies, and some kind of orange tea.

This picture is taken at a mushroom farm. Yes mushroom came in all sizes and color too!

I went to a nursery that my cousin likes to go too, she bought some fresh coconut for us to drink; p.s. coconut water is cooling, it is nice to have when the day is hot! Fresh coconut drink and at a warmer temperature tastes very different than those I tasted from the cooling shelves. Lucky us, we had it fresh plucked from the tree!

This is a flowering plant that looks like a bird in between the petals.
It is very neat looking!

Cows on the loose!!
We were on our way to a fruit plantation, but on our way there we had cows taking their afternoon walk.

I was at KLCC. It has a lot of small animals and a lot of fish, including sharks, sting-ray etc...
It's this amazing, the butterflies are just as big as my hand!

This is a pomegranate . I should renamed it patient fruit. Because it took me very long time to finish this quarter piece. It's like corns inside an orange form. The "kernel" part is the seed, but it's not soft like corn, it is hard like grape seeds.

I had a very interesting combination lunch. I had a baked Purple yam and baked flavored eel (you can find it in sushi or just any Korean/Japanese store).

These are the passion fruits, this fruit has very little meat/juice, the peel is very thick, if you have a dull knife it feels like you are cutting a rubble ball. It's sweet and tangy! Very nice!

Have you have banana this fresh? Yes banana grows on a banana tree and the fruit grows on a stick, the fruit (a.k.a. banana) will be in a skirt form, dressing themselves one roll at a time on the stick. It's very interesting! Of course it's not that big of a deal if you saw it before. Just thought that this might be something very tropical thing to do, cut your own bananas from the tree.

This is some kind of berries.

Snake-skin fruit. The name says it all. The fruit? Well, tasted like alcohol. LOL a bit of fermented taste. A bit of sour but sweet in the same time. Kind of weird alright.

This is just a fun pair of twins banana.

Hi folks, it's nice to have some time sitting and writing some report to you. I have learned a lot of cool tools here that they use on Asian. Also some funky way of making hair looks fuller. I have also found a new way of making hair straight without making hair feels dry like before. Yeepee for you curly girls that want's long silking hair!

Sept 4 - Santosa Island/ Feature: Underwater World

It's Saturday, so we just head out to spend our long day ahead in Santosa Island. Santosa Island is a place that used to be only for commercial buildings, somehow the government open the Island for people to purchase for housing, so now one part of the island is residential. Here are some chips that I recorded for ya. It's very interesting to know, the lots were all sold out before it's even began to build. It's the prime spot for sure!! for the rich to live anyways.

I have no idea if the water is polluted or what, because there is a no fishing sign. It could be just not safe to fish there due to all the ships are parking across from us.

In the afternoon, I was dropped off on Orchard Rd to just take my sweet time touring the biggest shopping place! Orchard Rd has a whole street long of malls, most are attached to each other for shoppers' convenience. They have basements, 5 levels down! with subway system to travel across the street and out of the area. Public transportation is very advance here. No more coins or not knowing how much to pay for the trip. They have a tapper (card) to tap on the reader, it will charge/record down where did you hop on, and then you tap out it will deduct the right amount of money out of your card.

5 Stars feel baby!!

All of them look just like this, so eye catching and feels like you are in a fancy airport or some big 5 star hotel!!

this is bakery shop number 3! lol how many bakery shop do we need in a same building?

after 2 hours maybe or a little more, I had enough of walking, I only roughly visited three buildings, I'm telling you, they do know how to shop and eat!

after I decided to head out, I stopped at a convenient store for a piece of something to pass my time, before my pick up later in the evening. Here's some clips of me getting all tired and still very amazed of the beauty of Singapore.

Sept 2 - bird park n' more

My breakfast at 8am, a steamed bun and a steamed cake. Then, I was dropped off at Bird Park to watch some shows.

This is the breakfast show, haha sorry for such a small vid here and there, cause this guy can really talk, so I only take the part that the birds took part in it.

I took a lot of clips, but I will just show you a few. Ok? I'm just getting sleepy here.

Too much to show, so I won't go deeper on Bird Park.

Here's more on the rest of the day after a visit at the park.

Here's something about Singapore. There was a observatory tower across from the bird park, and so after the visit at the Bird Park, my uncle took me to a restaurant across the park and we had vegetarian. Due to my camera or maybe the memory card being goofy, I have lost a lot of good footage. So sorry, I have nothing left on the restaurant to show it to you. But, the food was great, cause hahahaha Chinese really can make something that is not meat and make it tastes like meat!!

... the night of, we went to a big mall called Vivo City, on top of it's roof I can see the Santosa Island where the nice houses and casino are. (p.s. there are more then just one place for this, cause Singapore is an Island and it's a pure tourism and it's a city, a state a capital and a country all in one place!)

Nice car everywhere, because one, they import basically everything; 2, all cars are 10 years or less, because of the government. They have to get rid of their car or renew a pricey permit for a car that is older then 10.

Very eye catching, this is no secret that Singapore is all about experience!

Sept 1 - first day:: food n' shopping

I slept for 5 hours and then chat on the internet for maybe hour or so...

(uuhhh!!! the video stop at a funny frame. So funny looking me)

This morning/late morning -11am? Aunty and I just walked across the street behind her house, and we walk deeper into it, took us about 10mins walk or less for my brunch.

We have landed into a shopping place, not a mall, not a grocery place, but just a place similar to a plaza, filled with many different kind of businesses. This is a bakery shop (one of many), it has bigger selection that Pick & Save, or Shaker Baker!!!

After brunch, we went on shopping for some greens for lunch later. This is a place that I will get lot in finding the exit!!! Very jam-packed!!!!

After I got back, I head out at 2pm to a local bus station, which it's also a mall above it! It only takes me 10mins on the bus and my jaw was dropping because I have never see anything this huge and busy on a weekday in Wisconsin ever!
This is just a small place but very fashion forward and the prices here are a lot more then what we will usually pay for in WI. (Later I found out that Singapore has a strong economy in making and spending. So that is one of the reason why, there are tons of things to buy and to shop in just a short distance from each other.)

Today I have found that Singapore $ is just as big as USD, because it's 1 to 1.3 difference. Man I'm not having much money to do anything with the inflated USD!!! This sucks!!

on the way home, we stop for some midnight snack (1am, Sept 1, Singapore)

on the right, that's tofu pudding in sugar syrup; on the left, deep fried pastry.

This is the night view when we head back to home. (Background voice was my uncle) Singapore is known for no chewing gum country. The government works really hard on keeping the country neat and clean, therefore they have scheduled maintenance for everything!!

This is me at Tokyo airport going to Singapore. Look at the individual TV! Thank goodness for it, cause after a long flight, 7 hours more is like hell! My butt was all numb and I couldn't tell time, since I have skipped many time zone. On the plane to Singapore, I was very well treated, talking about Asian service, water was supplied every hour, and I get to pick from animated movies to horror movies. So to keep myself awake when I should to ease my jetlag, I watched 3 movies on this flight!!

Not Ready Yet... Lots to Pack!!

Got a trim on Tuesday, and my layers are back! Yeah!

today?
I would say, this is hard.

Packing? No, packing is easy... it's the get my butt and move that is hard.

Today, I'm feeling like fainting and vomiting, the heat is a bit much today.
Couldn't sleep much last night, didn't go to bed until 12am.

Then this morning I was up already at 6am. Of course my dog was waiting for me already. He was ready for his breakfast. I was not, so I finished the rest of the yogurt that I bought from Trader Joe's, and still didn't jump-start my appetite for a real meal.

Today I eat like a space-woman, now to think of it, maybe I was making myself feeling worst than making me better.

Finally turned on the A/C at noon, it was 90 deg!
The more I think of it, the sicker I feel, man, I have forgot how to live like a Malaysian!

The first month or two down by the equator is not going to be easy on me.

I'm almost done packing, I know I still need to put everything in a box and a few things on carry on.
That will be my 6months survival kit!

Pray for my safe journey and able to adapt a forgotten culture/environment!
It will be so weird to not use English as often as I have here.

I will post more pictures and quick note when I get there.
I'm going back on packing again!

2cup water
2 eggs
3 tablespoon vege oil
1/4 teaspoon seasalt
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
*2 Tablespoon goat milk powder ( you may replace half cup of water with half cup of fresh milk/butter milk) *optional, I just love the taste. Without it your crapes will be a little runnier and less fat.

makes about 6-7
2 serving. (man i can really eat the whole 7 pieces, it is that good!)

I eat it with Jams, sometimes peanut butter. But lately I found a better thing, healthier, it's Agave raw sweetener. It is almost like maple syrup, without the runniness or the corn syrup in it. That =s to less sugar intake!

Everything just landed on my lap...

After a week of trying to get the right ticket and trying to determine when I should take off.
Finally, I have a ticket!

I am excited to know it is going to be a fruitful trip no matter what.
It might not be the most comfortable trip due to the humidity and tropics weather.
But I believe during my trip there I will be able to find a lot of discovery.

That might be including some cool item that I find thru out my journey there.
And of course IF I am good at the whole upload and download thing, I will be posting a lot of neat pictures on my journey to share with you.

Thank you so much for your support and feel free to write me, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Some of you might be questioning when I will still be working at the salon... I'm planing to be at the salon till the 3rd week of August.

Be sure to check with my schedule and don't try to get in the last minute. Lately I have noticed people will not show up as much during nice days. So if it's too nice out, you probably are in luck of getting your service done without having to wait too long or at all.

I have been thinking of having a get-together on the Friday 8/13th or Saturday 8/14st.....or.....Friday 8/20th or Saturday 8/21st
give me some input on this, and we can pick a date.

Hi Folks

Yes, I am leaving for Malaysia... I have not book a flight yet, hoping to get everything organized and able to leave in August.
but I'll come back :)

I will keep on working until I know a definite time to leave.

My cousin is offering to work at his salon for a while now and i have decided to take it.

I am thinking of going there to learn new things from the other side of the world and bring it back with me.
It is so exciting to learn new things.

in chinese proverbs "frog who lives in the well" and I'm not it!!

I want to be outside of the well and see the world.

When will I be back?
I know this is a frequently asked question after I just told my co-workes and my beloved friends/clients
Well, I'm thinking a few months if I can't take the tropical heat anymore
4months will be great if i get to learn and go to one of the neighboring country.

"You are what you eat" myth or truth?

I believe you are what you eat has at least 90% truth to your personal health.
Why just 90%

Maybe I should say 100%!!

I do believe genetic also count, so sometimes it just born that way with some condition that you wish you do not have, but with the correct eating habit will improve your health, 100% in my case.

For some of you already know, I am allergic to regular milk and milk by-product. That means, I have a lot to watch out for in this world. Regular milk cause me acnes/ i look at it as very small hives on my face

My body is ok to have organic milk.
Why? I have no clue. maybe organic cows are free from any vaccine or hormone injection
I have I tested for it? How about I tried it and I am a living testimony.

I have acne prone skin, that means my face loves acne....
hahhaha

here's the story
I have acne since i was a pre teen
Thank goodness that I was blessed with knowledgeable friend who is a medical esthetician (someone that does facial skin care for a living in a clinic, such as plastic surgery clinic, etc...)
She helped me get rid of the 60% of my acne problem
she detox my face by extracting and medicated mask treatment
what happen was, my face was over populated with bacteria from the acne (one acne popped and infects another clean surface, and they multiplied)
one quick and easy way and affecting way was to kill as much bacteria as possible, and keep it under control

then with my food intake it helps, this is my part of believe
i noticed the change before i see her, but it was minimal, because the acne multiply faster then i can keep it under control.

now i stay away from milk product and by- product
unless it is made organic milk

my face is clearer and clearer each day

anyways. my skin is absolutely no acne on it
....for most of the time.
but no more painful face
or embarrassing bumps... oozing sores (ewwwhhh....!!!)

Salicylic acid is made in a lot of face wash, and it is a pretty good one to use to up keep on acne prone skin
to get rid of it fast, you will need a professional grade of Salicylic acid

trust me, this is way cheaper to get your face fix then going for a doctor for blood testing and skin biopsy and stuff. one visit is already $300 not including drugs, lab test, and future visits.

You may just spend total of $300 to clear up everything by visiting a medical esthetician.

it is so worth it！ plus you may enjoy the facial part of the deal!

therefore more studying and more preperation for it

oh, and i am think of a short break to take in the future
i will let you know when once i have figured it out
but for now i'm still very overwhelm with a lot of things happening around me
and it's because i haven't have a break since after school
so maybe that's why i feel so overwhelm

uhhhh~~
i took my instructor board exam yesterday
felt a bit tired, but glad that it's over

now all i can do is sit and wait for the letter
the letter of result

today i met up with my life coach, she told me something (big) to me.
she shared that she has went through her wardrobe and take out all the clothing that will not make her feel beautiful. she said I'm the one to be blamed for this big action!!

hahhaaaa

and i said "Me??"

she said i have motivated her to change
i didn't ask her to change
but because of my passion on beauty changed her

she wants to feel how i feel when i feel beautiful
i feel strong and ready when i feel beautiful.

well, i did it again for yesterday's event.
i put on my armor yesterday and be the role that i want to be for yesterday
ready to conquer the day, the battle, my challenge!

I dressed myself for the event - "suiting up in my armor ready for my battle"

I never think of my motto is that great of an impact -feeling beautiful!

I am that powerful....heheeee

Hey gangs

I know it might be a little too soon to plan a party to celebrate
But i do think i should so that i have something to look forward to...

It's a party to celebrate on getting my instructor license.

I will be taking my boards exam on May 3rd.
Pray for me if you happen to think of me.
So I am thinking maybe I should have a party on the 8th or the 15th.
I will need a vote on this and see which date is better.

Of course I will have more test to go for later in the future, those will be for the Paul Mitchell Educator Certification. If I'm happened to put everything together on time, I will be taking it on May 17th.

I'm thinking by May 8th/15th the weather should be nice enough to head out.
I love water, so how about the lake front.
If it rains, there are tons of little stores we can just chill there for a cup of hot tea or hot cocco.

This is an open invitation to all my friends.
How is this party gonna be? I think it's up to me and you to make it fun and meaningful!
So feel free to give me you ideas on what is it gonna be.
Such as a picnic potluck style, sit in at a coffee shop at tea time style or something else

Do let me know, cause as you know I usually work on Saturdays.

Rain reminds me of home

Here we had an all night long rain

i woke up to a dewy morning
uh, it really reminded me of home (Malaysia)

for i remember i woke everyday for school to that nice cool dewy morning
and it was still dark just like this morning

it's funny how we can remember things due to enviroment/feelings
i remember of eating ramen noodles in the morning
i think my dad had it too, so we both had ramen noodles in the morning

that calm fresh feeling
really make me think of NC
i never been to NC, but due to my knowledge it's pretty close to the cooler days in Malaysia
and it's next to the coast, so seafood is abundant
hmmm the smell of fresh sea breeze
of course not that pretty when you are smelling the fish
but the nice fresh sea wind is always bring you to the tropical vacation mode

im sure for those that go to Florida or the Bahamas will want this

This evening I just found out that my aunt Nancy (who is now in Malaysia) is not doing so well lately.
Her cancer spread, my mom just found out last night.

At this time, my mother is looking to fly in with another sister of hers, aunt Jasmine from California.

First of all, please pray that God will heal aunt Nancy and be with her who is probably very frighten and loosing her mind --- that's my guess.
Pray that God will help her husband and son to take on the role of caregivers, pray that God will give them wisdom on what to do in this situation. Pray that God will comfort them, and know that God is in control.

Please pray for my mom's and aunt Jasmine's safety. It's going to be a long trip back to another side of the globe!!
Pray for wisdom that they know what to say at the right time and pray that God will be able to guide them through this difficult time.

beauty tips -makeup brush cleaning

for most of you probably will find yourself with a all beaten up looking makeup brush
it doesn't feel as soft as the first day you use it, it's not as full as the first day you bought it.

my tip for you is CLEAN IT!

HOW?
First, to own a set of good quality makeup brush is the key of owning it for a long time. (mine are well more then 6 years and I'm still using it)

Second, it's not a bad idea to own another set for backup use.

Now, cleaning steps are very important, or else, you are ruining your brushes then keeping them clean.
-------------------------------------------------------
Step one: use a bowl or a container that is deep enough to hold water without spilling it. I reuse a container from Chinese restaurant. I believe it's a 2cup or 16oz (1lb) measurement container.
Step two: fill about 1/2 of the container with warm water (note: do not use hot water, it will ruin your brush) and add 1/2 tsp of clear facial cleanser. I like to use one that has anti-bacteria ingredient in it or look for Salicylic acid in the content. (Neutrogena the orange one with 2% salicylic acid is what I use for myself.)

Last night was a very busy night for me

I know for some of you are concern what will happen to me if I do received my license. I will still work as a hairdresser for sure. Teaching/ mentoring is something I do love to do, but to get my hands "dirty" on the current style, color or trend is exciting. I do greatly believe I will have to learn it myself then I can mentor someone base on my experience or else nothing I share will be base on personal experience or the truth on how I really feel about the products that I'm sharing.

Hi everyone,
one of my new things that i will start posting is product review.

Today I'm doing a product review on JK (Jemma Kidd)- air kiss- shine lipgloss.
I tried them on the back of my hands at Target today and I like how it feels on the skin. It's NOT sticky at all!!

Love it!!

I bought #02 undress and #07 poser.
I have the #02 undress on right away when I got back from Target, I was surprise how smooth it went on my lips and it's not taffy or gummy, which it's really define the name of it's line, "air kiss".

The color is kind of shy, well it's nude (brown sugar tone) color, but still strong enough to see the difference. I'm sure it will look even darker/ intese if I have a lipstick on.

My lighting is not great right now, but I'll post some pictures when I get a chance to do it.

as for now, I'm loving air kiss shine lipgloss by JK (Jemma Kidd).

We will have to face frizzy hair once in a great while. That's deal-able when it comes to just an occasionally bad hair day. That's nothing like a quick run-your-finger-thru with some styling aid(gel, hairspray,etc...) or put your hair up in a pony tail, bandanna and headband to conquer the day.

What if you have 365days of frizzy hair, maybe it is time to go out there to seek professional help.

However, I do have some recommendation for you that usually works well for the majority.

Introducing Super Skinny Serum, Gloss Drops, Quick Slip by Paul Mitchell.
These three will give you a smooth healthy shiny look without weighing our hair down or looking oily.

Super Skinny Serum is to use on your towel dried hair, a pump will be good enough product for most hair. Remember, you can always use more if u needed to, but a little bit of Super Skinny Serum goes a long way! Super Skinny Serum locks in the moisture and pushes the extra moisture out therefore it will cut blow drying time that = more time in your hands!

Gloss Drops is usually use for finishing touch. Gloss Drops has a thicker consistency and it has an anti-humidity mechanism that delivers frizz-free, smooth shine in all climates. Normally we use this at the end to smooth down flyaways. However, I have found a cooler way to use this product!! Emulsify your towel dried hair with a cocktail of Gloss Drops + Super Skinny Serum and then blow dry, this will gives you more control and absolutely frizz-free in every single strand of hair. Friendly reminder, do not use too much of Gloss Drops, it's highly concentrated, you will only need a pea size to cocktail with Super Skinny Serum.

Quick Slip has a flexible memory hold which gives you long lasting style through out the day. Quick Slip also has UV protection ingredient that leaves hair feeling and looking healthy and protected from the sun! I like to cocktail Quick Slip + Super Skinny Serum and use on towel dried hair and then blow try and style with iron.
